Public Art Project Officer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Public Art Project Officer to join our team in coordinating the planning, commissioning, and delivery of public art mural projects.

  • Coordinate project planning, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Work with artists, curators, local organisations, and Council staff to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders to reflect local identity in public artworks.
  • Develop and implement community consultation and engagement strategies.
  • Support community outreach, education, and promotion of public art projects.
  • Collaborate on the development of municipal-wide mural site selection processes, including criteria establishment and stakeholder mapping.
  • Ensure artwork maintenance, documentation, and compliance with Council policies.
  • Assist with contract administration, risk assessment, and event organisation.
About the Role

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in public art, arts administration, community development, or visual arts, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering public art or community arts projects.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, including coordination and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships across various stakeholders.
