About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Amazon's Moorebank Fulfilment Centre. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a technical team in carrying out reactive and proactive maintenance activities, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of Maintenance Technicians, providing guidance and direction to help them achieve their goals.
  • Develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with facility and contractor management.
  • Act as an ambassador for safety within the team, promoting safe working practices across the site.
  • Manage maintenance-related purchase orders, ensuring adequate stock levels for maintenance and maximizing smooth facility operation.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all FC systems, including power distribution, automated material handling equipment, conveyance, and operational equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organisation, including regular attendance to site leadership meetings and steering committees.
A Day in the Life

In every shift, you'll be leading a team to ensure everyone has the equipment they need and that it's running properly. This involves monitoring processes to ensure regulations and policies are followed and ensuring preventative maintenance is carried out to increase equipment uptime.

You'll also suggest improvements to make our systems more efficient and productive, based on your observations during your shifts.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team keeps our equipment performing at its best. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Formal trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter/Turner or Electrician with current electrical trade license.
  • Leadership experience in supervising multi-trade teams in a fast-paced manufacturing/distribution centre environment.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing technicians.
  • Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
  • Experience in contractor management.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, preventative maintenance procedures, blueprint and schematic reading, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs, work order management.
  • Experience of multi-contractor management.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
  • Facility management.
