POSITION SUMMARY
Amazon is in search of dedicated Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) Technicians to enhance our operational efficiency at our Fulfillment Center.
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to uphold safety standards and regulations, ensuring timely execution of preventative maintenance to a high quality, while striving for optimal equipment performance through ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on a diverse array of equipment within the facility.
- Prioritize health and safety best practices in all tasks performed.
- Respond swiftly to equipment failures, maintaining clear communication with affected teams and working effectively to resolve issues.
- Foster continuous improvement by analyzing breakdowns and providing constructive feedback and suggestions to management.
- Ensure high levels of equipment availability for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
A Typical Day
As an RME Technician, you will be stationed on-site, allowing for immediate response to any machinery complications. You will perform a variety of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates safely. Additionally, you will promptly address breakdowns, investigating and implementing solutions efficiently. You will also contribute ideas for long-term enhancements.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will handle daily maintenance duties, including general building upkeep.
About the Team
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is dedicated to keeping our equipment functioning at peak performance. We collaborate to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery across our extensive network of fulfillment centers. Our team includes leaders who guide the group as they engage with cutting-edge technology, some of which is unique to Amazon.
From the installation of automated packaging systems to overseeing site maintenance and repairing critical distribution equipment, our team manages a wide range of technical responsibilities. This includes ensuring compliance with legal standards to maintain safety and maximize operational efficiency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current unrestricted electrical trade license.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Proficiency in fault finding within Material Handling Equipment and Automation systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Experience with conveyor systems and motor controllers/inverters.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards and regulations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
While preferred qualifications are not mandatory for application, candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:
- Knowledge of computer maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience with sortation machinery.
- Background in an industrial setting.
- Skills in maintaining and configuring barcode scanners.
- Familiarity with print and apply machinery.
