Job Opportunity

We are seeking an Ecological Expert to lead our Environmental Management team in Brisbane, Australia. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ecology and experience in environmental consultancy or the public sector.

  • Delivery of high-quality environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, specifically flora and fauna, biodiversity and habitat.
  • Advanced fauna or plant community identification skills with the ability to coordinate and lead field surveys including terrestrial flora and fauna.
  • Understanding and application of all relevant impact assessment legislation that underpins ecological projects.
  • Production of detailed technical reports and ability to provide expert review.
  • Provide specialist support, mentoring and assistance to the team.
  • Identify issues and problems and develop effective solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in either an environmental consultancy or the public sector including undertaking ecological/ environmental surveys and report production.
  • Experience using Arc GIS, ESRI and ePrimer.
  • High level flora and fauna identification skills.
  • Expert report writing skills.
  • Comprehensive interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • A valid driver's licence is essential.
