IT Service Configuration Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to excel in a role that encompasses both technical and organizational skills. The IT Service Configuration Manager position involves managing and promoting configuration processes within Information Technology services.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing efficient service delivery methods, defining standards for information capture and maintenance, and maintaining a logical model of the IT infrastructure.
  • Gathering, analysing, storing, and sharing knowledge and information are also crucial aspects of this role.
  • Ongoing training and development of staff members are essential to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory through periodic audits and controlled entries in the Service management toolset are also key responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field is required.
  • ITIL V3 foundation certification and demonstrated experience with ITIL processes are also essential.
  • Possession of an ITIL Configuration Management Practitioner certification is highly valued.
  • Candidates should possess significant general IT or business experience, preferably in Configuration or Knowledge Management.
  • Demonstrated capability to provide input into research and prepare documentation is a must.
  • An excellent understanding of technical service design and interaction/dependencies of components is crucial.
  • A thorough understanding of and skills to effect practical and efficient configuration/knowledge management and reporting are also required.
