Senior Claims Advocate Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled claims professional to join our team as a Senior Claims Advocate. The successful candidate will have experience in managing complex financial lines insurance claims and be able to provide detailed coverage analysis and advice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Claims Analysis: Provide detailed coverage analysis and advice on complex financial lines claims, including issues of construction, claim characterisation, interpretation, and exclusions.
  • Claim Strategies: Conduct urgent reviews and develop tailored claim strategies for high-risk large loss matters requiring immediate action.
  • Client Engagement: Engage proactively with clients, legal counsel, and insurers to coordinate claim responses and mitigate losses.
  • Mentorship: Mentor internal claims staff on legal and coverage complexities, and assist in preparing detailed correspondence and submissions.
Requirements:
  • Literature Expertise: A legal degree with 5+ years PQE, preferably with experience in private practice.
  • Complex Claim Management: Proven technical expertise in managing complex financial lines insurance claims.
  • Independent Work: Ability to independently manage a range of high-value claims while maintaining high-quality customer service.
Desirable Skills:
  • Financial Lines Experience: Experience working within the financial lines claims space, with a deep understanding of case law and multi-party claim coordination.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-profile claims with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications: Additional industry certifications or specialist training in financial lines or insurance law are advantageous.
