Joinery Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Joinery Specialist to join our team of craftsmen. As a Joinery Specialist, you will play a vital role in transforming architectural plans into handcrafted timber masterpieces.

About the Role

The Joinery Specialist will be responsible for analyzing drawings and specifications to select appropriate materials and determine the best methods to meet architectural intent with accuracy. You will operate both hand tools and power machinery to craft joinery parts to exact specification.

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and plans to select suitable materials and determine the most effective methods to achieve precise results.
  • Operate hand tools and power equipment, including CNC machines, to create high-quality joinery components.
  • Produce door sets, window frames, cabinet carcasses, and other architectural joinery elements to exacting standards.
  • Assemble these using various techniques such as clamping, pressing, wedging, and packing to ensure seamless integration.
  • Independently construct and finish wooden stairs from stair posts to handrails and balustrades, ensuring structural integrity and refined aesthetic appeal.
  • Carefully dismantle completed joinery when necessary, preparing and packaging components correctly for safe transportation.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Skilled experience in reading and acting on technical plans and joinery specifications.
  • Proficiency with traditional joinery tools and advanced machinery (e.g., CNC machines).
  • Proven ability in creating detailed timber elements, particularly doors, window sashes, cabinetry, and stairwork.
  • Strong competence in mechanical assembly methods - clamps, wedges, presses, etc.
  • A keen eye for detail, timber quality, and architectural character.
