Job Role

The Inclusive Cafe Leader will oversee daily cafe operations, creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment. You will provide hands-on vocational support and guidance to team members with disabilities, helping them work towards their individual employment objectives.

  • Support individuals with disabilities to develop valuable skills and confidence through meaningful cafe work.
  • Mentor and guide team members to achieve individual NDIS employment goals and outcomes.
  • Delegate cafe tasks aligned with safe work practices and commercial service standards.
  • Prepare and serve quality food and beverages while maintaining cleanliness and presentation.
  • Operate POS systems, handle cash and card payments, and manage customer orders.
  • Assist with inventory, stocktake, and supplier coordination to support cafe operations.
  • Partner with Employment Coaches to deliver on-the-job training and skill development.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive team culture focused on personal growth and teamwork.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience supervising teams in a cafe or customer-focused environment, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ability to mentor and support individuals with disabilities, helping them develop confidence and employment skills in a real-world setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and collaborate across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities, with a proactive mindset and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and cafe systems (such as POS), with the ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
