Cohort Staffing is seeking an experienced and passionate Mental Health Youth Worker to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people who have experienced trauma, family concerns or abuse and neglect. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our clients.

About the Role:

  • Care for children and young people in a nurturing and homely environment that provides a sense of safety, structure, acceptance and security.
  • Ensure the rights and interests of children and young people are protected.
  • Act as an effective role model and carer, supporting clients to maintain links with their family, culture and community.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain routines, structure and provide consistent care.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including medication reminders, personal care, domestic duties and meal preparation.
  • Engage with clients to promote positive behaviors and outcomes.
  • Follow established care practices, procedures and care plans to ensure high-quality care.
  • Document client progress and interactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Essential Criteria:

  • Behavioural management knowledge and experience working with difficult/behavioural clients.
  • Ability to adapt and manage challenging situations while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
  • Experience working with trauma-informed clients, particularly in Child Youth and Families work.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least one year of full-time work experience in Australia in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services.
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent).

Licences and Certifications:

  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Satisfactory Working with Children's Check.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check ID.
