Job Summary:

The role of Strategic Policy Advisor involves contributing to the development of strategic policy advice to support advocacy efforts. This position requires strong engagement with member organisations and stakeholders to identify and prioritise policy and strategic aims and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of high-quality strategic deliverables from the National HIV Taskforce, including researching and formulating positions on complex issues.
  • Conceptualise Australia's community-led HIV response and the complexity of Australia's public health system.
  • Support members' enquiries in relation to national LGBTIQA+ health policy.
  • Evaluate the lived experience of people with HIV and its intersectionality with marginality and disadvantage.
  • Work across the membership and other stakeholders to identify and prioritise policy and strategic aims and objectives.
  • Apply project management skills to progress strategic deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Report on all government funded projects.
