Role Overview:

We're seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team in a Full-time permanent role. You'll be responsible for a mixture of Front Desk Reception Duties and Back Office Contact Centre work.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Interaction:
  2. Greet patients professionally and courteously.
  3. Assist patients with appointment scheduling.
  4. Administrative Tasks:
  5. Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently.
  6. Process patient payments (cash, Eftpos, direct billing).
  7. Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, DVA, and Workcover.
  8. Handle internal emails and inquiries.
  9. Maintain a tidy reception waiting area.
  10. Collaboration:
  11. Work autonomously and as part of a team.
  12. Communicate with referring doctors and hospital staff courteously.
  13. Fill in the roster when staff are on annual or sick leave.
  14. Ensure accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records.
  15. Confidentiality:
  16. Maintain patient personal and financial information confidentiality.
  17. Complete recalls and follow privacy protocols.

Requirements:

  1. Previous medical receptionist and call centre experience (highly desirable but not essential).
  2. Clear communication skills, both in speaking and listening, along with patience and empathy for people in varying situations.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Customer service experience.
  5. Flexibility to work autonomously and in a team environment.
