Director Fixed Income

Role Overview

The role involves developing and communicating interest rate trade ideas, providing regular notes, and covering Australian and New Zealand OIS and swap markets. The successful candidate will work independently to develop fixed income ideas and provide strategy views to add value for clients and internal Sales and Trading staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and communicate interest rate trade ideas and provide relevant notes.
  • Cover Australian and NZ OIS and swap markets, BBSW, BKBM, SOFR, domestic and cross-currency basis swaps, options, and regulatory issues.
  • Lead provision of fixed income ideas, including bonds, semis, agencies, and SSAs.
  • Liaise with Fixed Income & Rates Trading, DCM and Sales teams in compliance with guidelines.
  • Provide timely strategy views and advice to add value for clients and internal staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of global financial markets, particularly Australia, New Zealand, and US bond, option and interest rate markets and products.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, fiscal and central bank policies and their implementation.
  • Analytical skills with problem solving, numerical and verbal reasoning.
  • Ability to take responsibility for ongoing distribution of notes & views.
  • Influencing, written & verbal communication skills, including potential media exposure.
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce, mathematics, or economics (preferably honours or above).
