Customer Service Representative Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative.

This role involves providing exceptional customer service, handling retail sales, and providing factual information about the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting guests, taking frequent tours through the hospital, and supporting other team members in the delivery of community fundraising events, database management, and community fundraising campaigns.

Duties May Include:

  • Providing front of house customer service at the tour desk and public viewing gallery, including sales, merchandising, and promotional and informational signage.
  • Maintaining the hospital's tour schedule through communications with various departments and tour guides, and taking hospital tours as required.
  • General administration duties, including drafting letters, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and compiling office policies and procedures.
  • Organizing business itineraries, travel arrangements, conferences, and meetings.
  • Providing administration assistance to the Development Manager and team.
  • Inputting information into the Raiser's Edge database.
  • Assisting with the setup and pack down of conferences and meetings.
  • Cash handling and EFTPOS transactions.
  • Answering incoming calls and responding in a timely manner.
  • General cleaning of the Tour Desk Area, Conference Room, and Office Area.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments and managers.
  • Supporting the team in the operational aspects of key programs to ensure the delivery of high-quality events and activities.
  • Providing high-quality interactions with donors of all levels to foster long-term engagement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • An understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Personable and approachable with excellent customer service skills.
  • Commitment to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a small team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff and constituents at all levels.
  • Understanding of the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Global Conservation Projects.
  • 1+ years of progressively responsible experience in non-profit fundraising, marketing, events, or administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate with all levels of staff and people in a wide range of business and community settings.
  • 7-day per week availability.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Associated licenses; training, workplace health and safety.
  • Current Manual Driver's License.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Education history.
