About This Role

  • We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to install coverings such as carpets, linoleum, parquetry blocks, cork tiles and other resilient flooring materials over floors.
  • Our ideal candidate will measure area to be covered carefully, make sketches as a guideline and then cut the floor coverings precisely to fit the unique specifications of the space.
  • They will secure floor coverings in place with tacks, staples, tape or glue, adjusting as needed to accommodate size and type of material being used.
  • The successful candidate will also secure floor coverings and fitting edge trims in doorways.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role, as they will need to communicate their schedule and any unexpected complications with the client in a timely, respectful and professional manner.
  • The specialist will clean the workspace thoroughly before departing on the last day of the job, including vacuuming, disposing of carpet fragments and moving furniture back into the space.
  • Adjusting installation method according to the environment and traffic in the room is also crucial for this position.
  • Moving furniture as needed, taking care not to soil or damage it, is an important aspect of this role.

  • Maintain safe work practices while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of tools such as knives, staple guns, shears and glue guns.
  • Certificate III in Flooring Technology or relevant qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant field.
