Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Specialist to join our team in western Sydney. This is a long-term works program involving design, construction, maintenance, and facility management services for wastewater and recycled water systems.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide operational safety leadership, safety advice, and drive compliance with HSE legislation and contractual obligations for projects. You will work closely with self-perform teams and subcontractors, ensuring all relevant legislative requirements and internal documentation are completed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on safety protocols and procedures to field staff and clients
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and contractual obligations
  • Develop and implement effective safety strategies to mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address safety concerns
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Relevant experience in the construction or utilities industry
  • ICAM Lead Investigator certification
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Ability to function unsupervised, working to tight deadlines
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
  • Proven ability to engage, coach, and foster relationships at all levels of an organization
