General Practitioner Role in Rural Healthcare


Job Description

This role is ideal for a motivated General Practitioner seeking to make a meaningful contribution to rural healthcare. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the medical team at Tomaree Hospital to provide high-quality patient care.

The primary focus of this position is to provide medical services to patients, including admitting, consulting, diagnosing, and providing procedural and outpatient care as required.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and support for staff and trainees, as well as participate in clinical handover, supervision, and emergency care as needed.

Provision of education and research opportunities will also be available to the successful candidate.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRMM, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  • Evidence of medical expertise in General Practice.
  • Evidence of scholarship and ability to teach and support staff and trainees.
  • Evidence of strong communication skills, collaboration, and adaptability within a changing health system.
