We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our medical team at Tomaree Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate GP to contribute to high-quality rural healthcare and experience the coastal lifestyle of Port Stephens.

  • Provide admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as determined by HNELHD.
  • Attend and be available during rostered work hours and on-call periods, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching and emergency and routine care as required.
  • Deliver education and research activities as needed.
  • Demonstrate medical expertise with recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice.
  • Contribute to teaching and support for staff and trainees to develop their knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, students, health professionals and the public through oral and written means.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary framework and with stakeholders in various settings.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and clinical governance.
  • Advocate for improvements in individual and societal health.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Hold a primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRMM, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  • Display evidence of medical expertise in General Practice.
  • Showcase evidence of scholarship and ability to teach and support staff and trainees.
  • Evidently possess strong communication skills, collaboration and adaptability within a changing health system.
  • Demonstrate evidence of professional development and clinical governance.
