**General Practitioner Role in Rural Healthcare**

We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our team at Tomaree Hospital, located in Port Stephens. As a Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our medical team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice, with the ability to demonstrate medical expertise and provide education and research opportunities as determined by HNELHD.

  • Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as required.
  • Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and on-call periods, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRMM, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  • Evidence of medical expertise in General Practice, including scholarship and ability to teach and support staff and trainees.
  • Evidence of strong communication skills, collaboration, and adaptability within a changing health system.
