Senior Biostatistics and Data Science Strategist

The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled Senior Biostatistician and Data Science Lead to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading biostatistical and data science efforts at the cutting edge of cancer research.

The South Australian immuno GENomics Cancer Institute (SAi GENCI) is establishing a Data Science Unit to accelerate discoveries in cancer research through data analysis and modelling. As part of this initiative, you will work closely with researchers and foster connections to cooperative research centres, national and international networks.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Ph.D. in Biostatistics or an equivalent field
- An understanding of bioinformatics and associated biology
- A track record of collaborative publications
You will also need demonstrated expertise in standard clinical biostatistics as well as multi-omics data integration, and proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., R, Python). A strong willingness to collaborate in the development and application of innovative computational methods, including machine learning and AI approaches, to cancer research problems is essential.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position available for 60 months. The salary range for this role is $135,388 to $155,696 per annum, plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.
