About the Role
The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled Senior Biostatistician and Data Science Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Data Science Unit, you will play a vital role in driving our cancer research initiatives forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead biostatistical and data science initiatives to accelerate cancer research
- Develop and apply innovative computational methods, including machine learning and AI approaches
- Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and computational scientists to drive research forward
- Lead and mentor a small team of computational biologists and/or data scientists
- Foster a collaborative, cross-disciplinary, and high-functioning research environment
Requirements
- PhD in Biostatistics or an equivalent field
- Understanding of bioinformatics and associated biology
- Demonstrated expertise in standard clinical biostatistics and multi-omics data integration
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., R, Python)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
