Senior Biostatistician and Data Science Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biostatistician and Data Science Lead to join our team at the University of Adelaide. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in biostatistics and data science to accelerate research in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will lead biostatistical and data science initiatives at the cutting edge of cancer research, spearheading statistical analyses and data-driven approaches to accelerate research at SAiGENCI. You will collaborate with world-class researchers, contribute to the development of innovative computational methods, and lead a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead biostatistical and data science initiatives to accelerate research in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- Collaborate with researchers to develop innovative computational methods and data-driven approaches.
- Lead a dynamic team of computational biologists and/or data scientists, including supervising HDR students.
- Communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences and effectively collaborate with wet-lab researchers, clinicians, and computational scientists.
- PhD in Biostatistics or an equivalent field, with an understanding of bioinformatics and associated biology.
- Demonstrated expertise in standard clinical biostatistics, multi-omics data integration, and proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
- A strong willingness to collaborate in the development and application of innovative computational methods, including machine learning and AI approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, including experience in supervising HDR students.
