About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team in Australia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the technical quality of water and wastewater infrastructure design projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or lead the mechanical and hydraulic design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects through the full spectrum of the project life cycle.
  • Produce and review concise, high-quality technical documentation and assist in preparing and coordinating high-quality proposals and pursuits.
  • Understand and manage the design on a range of projects or program work packages.
  • Contribute to the design team by actively assisting colleagues in achieving improved client feedback results, enhancing satisfaction, and exceeding client expectations.
  • Assist in project management and design management of a range of projects.
  • Develop and mentor emerging members of our team and work collaboratively with the wider local and national team.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
  • Chartered member of Engineers Australia or eligible/working towards obtaining CPEng.
  • Proven experience working within an engineering consultancy, or in a design role for a contractor or asset owner.
  • Water industry experience is advantageous.
  • Technical skills across a broad range of areas within water and/or wastewater conveyance and treatment.
  • Experience in the hydraulic design of water utilities and pump station design.
  • CFD and pipe stress analysis is advantageous.
  • Experience in equipment selection and specification.
  • Experience with stress analysis design using software or analytical techniques.
  • Experience in Plant 3 D or Inventor is advantageous.
  • Experience in CHAIR and HAZOP and related safety in design practices and processes.
