About the Opportunity

The ASC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineers Lead/Senior to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering advice and support to disciplines within and outside of the Design and Engineering Departments.
  • Ensure that technical decisions made are safe, technically correct, and represent value for money for the implementations on board the Collins Class Submarine.
  • Act as a lead for specific projects and provide leadership to a small team with a focus on delivery and quality.
  • Prepare technical reports and other engineering documentation with minimum supervision.
  • Manage labour and material resources in line with approved schedules.
  • Liaise with external and internal customers in relation to issues related to assigned work.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects. You will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree qualification or higher in a related field such as Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with resolving technical problems in a design, manufacturing, maintenance, and/or production environment.
  • Ability to implement strategies to recover tasks that don't meet the budget and schedule requirements.
  • Exposure to one or more of the following areas: Systems Engineering, Marine/Industrial Diesel Design, and/or Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics.
