About the Role:

  • Lead the mechanical design and engineering aspects of the project
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to meet project requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Mentor and develop personnel within the mechanical team
  • Ensure compliance with relevant design codes and regulations

Requirements:

  • 8+ years' experience in a similar role with mineral processing experience, preferably gold
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • RPEQ registration or CPEng registration preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of accepted Mechanical engineering practices, design codes, and regulations
  • Combination of skill sets developed throughout his/her career including working on PFS/DFS studies, FEED, detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and/or operational support
  • Comfortable in performing mechanical engineering calculations via first principles
  • Intimate knowledge of process equipment and the ability to specify equipment
  • Must have slurry pumping and pipe sizing experience
  • Wet plant and materials handling design experience
  • Knowledge of AS, ASME, CEMA, API, EU etc. standards
  • Familiarity with Smart Plant
  • Knowledge of project execution principles and project management systems
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate tasks
  • Team player and able to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible to change and open to feedback
