Job Opportunity: Dedicated Care Professionals

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and dedicated healthcare professional to join our team as a Nurse Practitioner. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will have experience in addiction medicine and related fields, as well as a strong understanding of the Victorian AOD service sector. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

  • Job Description:

  • This position is a blend of two roles funded under Department of Health. The primary focus of the weekend component is to improve capacity to respond to alcohol and other drug presentations in the ED.

  • Key objectives include extending specialist AOD coverage, improving linkages across departments, implementing the AOD screening tool, facilitating referrals to community services, and providing AOD education and training.

  • Additionally, the position will coordinate access and follow-up for clients under Severe Substance Dependent Treatment Act (SSDTA).

Required Skills and Qualifications

A qualification in or equivalent is required:

  • Nurse Practitioner – APHRA endorsed and registration which meets the registration requirements of the Nurses Board of Victoria in Division 1 or 3.

  • A minimum of 5 years clinical experience – preferably in the AOD or related sector.

  • Experience in Addiction Medicine and /or related fields.

  • Working knowledge of the SSDTA and the Victorian AOD service sector.

  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain.
