About the Role:

This pivotal opportunity to lead mobile accounting design at Xero allows you to shape the future of mobile accounting while partnering with cross-functional leaders across design, product and engineering.

Responsibilities include leading key initiatives, mentoring designers and continually raising the bar for quality, usability and craft in native mobile product design.

This hands-on leadership role requires collaboration and expertise in setting the design vision and direction for mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Design, Product and Development leaders to set the design vision and direction for native mobile experiences.
  • Collaborate on research opportunities, plan and undertake testing with colleagues from Design Research and Product.
  • Promote the value of design and collaborative practice within the team.
  • Present and communicate design work to various audiences.
  • Explore ideal future concepts, identify new interaction solutions and patterns that meet customer needs better.
  • Develop prototypes demonstrating proposed concepts or solutions.
  • Influence and support designers to deliver high-quality product experiences.
  • Develop phased design solutions bridging gaps between future states and current patterns.
  • Create smart and contextually relevant interactions and interfaces.
  • Develop effective handover materials communicating how designs should look and behave throughout interaction flows and journeys.

Requirements:

  • Experience designing native mobile experiences across iOS and Android.
  • Track record of innovating and delivering complex design experiences at scale.
  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality design outcomes contributing to user experience and business value.
  • Mastery of the entire design process from uncovering customer needs to executing elegant interfaces.
  • Excellent communication skills.
