**Job Role:** Counter Coordinator

This role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of hearings and assisting stakeholders. The Counter Coordinator works closely with various stakeholders, including represented persons, administrators, guardians, support services, VCAT members, and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for answering enquiries received at the counter, facilitating activities necessary for efficient hearing operations, and undertaking some administrative tasks. They will also provide procedural and process advice to participants navigating VCAT matters, ensuring they receive the support needed to progress through their VCAT experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support diverse stakeholders at the VCAT venue
  • Provide procedural and process advice
  • Facilitate activities for efficient hearing operations
  • Undertake administrative tasks

**Requirements:**

- Experience in customer service environments, particularly with challenging and vulnerable individuals

- Ability to juggle priorities to meet multiple stakeholder needs

- Basic technology support skills

- Knowledge of the VCAT Act and associated legislation is desirable, but not essential

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Empathy and understanding when dealing with sensitive situations
