NSW Health seeks a Biosecurity and Operations Lead to oversee Public Health Unit operations.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and senior management, overseeing unit operations to ensure delivery of an integrated service. Responsibilities span operations, finance, business processes, reporting, accreditation, quality and safety, consumer engagement, work health and safety, immunisation logistics, corporate risk, human resources, and other projects.

This role collaborates with the PHU management team to implement goals and deliver practical strategies to manage risk, resolve complex problems, and improve quality and performance.

The Manager will develop productive relationships with government, professional, industry groups, and community stakeholders.

  • Oversight of Public Health Unit operations to ensure delivery of an integrated service.
  • Strategic leadership and senior management of operations, finance, business processes, reporting, accreditation, quality and safety, consumer engagement, work health and safety, and related projects.
  • C Corporate functions within the Unit, including operational, administrative, and surge or project staff.
  • Logistics and operations coordination for the biosecurity program at airports and seaports.
  • Maintenance of productive relationships with government, professional, industry entities, and community stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has tertiary qualifications in business administration or management in a health field, relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.

They have proven experience with leadership at a senior management level in a large and complex organisation, thorough understanding of healthcare provision and management, and commitment to improving health outcomes for consumers.
