About this Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surface Water Engineer to join our team and contribute to delivering surface water engineering projects across multiple sectors.

As a key member of our Hydrogeology and Hydrology Technical Discipline, you will play a crucial role in managing and delivering complex projects that involve the application of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality results on time and within set deadlines.
  • Develop and apply hydrologic and hydraulic models using industry-leading software.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop models and prepare quality reports for internal and external clients.
  • Contribute to winning proposals by developing methodologies and identifying value propositions.
  • Provide expert advice and assistance to internal and external clients, team members, and project managers on best practices and principles.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering tertiary qualification and significant industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, particularly two-dimensional hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW).
  • Experience in hydrological modelling and assessments, including Australian Rainfall and Runoff and relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of associated areas of surface water engineering would be highly regarded, such as stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, water quality assessment, streamflow assessments, and flood risk analysis.
  • Experience in assessing and inputting into design of water-related structures, e.g. dams, levees, and diversions.
  • MUSIC or GoldSim modelling knowledge or experience would also be highly regarded.
  • Experience in EIS/EA amendment approvals would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills and technical report writing.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A strong track record in building, nurturing, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
  • Excellent driving history and hold a current driver's license.
