As a key member of our Despatch/ Yard team located at Webb Dock, Port Melbourne, you will play a vital role in supporting the Vehicle despatch team in general vehicle movements, inspections and other related tasks involved in preparing new vehicles for delivery to our customers. Some experience is preferred, however if you are motivated to learn and have a positive attitude, we are willing to provide the training and support to ensure your success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to customers arriving onsite regarding vehicle handovers for drop-offs & pick-ups
  • Safely manoeuvring vehicles in and around the compound and workshop
  • Inspecting and surveying incoming and all vehicles included for damage, faulty equipment and reporting as required
  • Collecting, delivering, and parking vehicles as directed by strictly obeying all speed limits and safety zones
  • Marshalling vehicles for load and jump starting vehicles as required
  • On Wharf Vehicle surveying and handling, vehicle identification and appropriate labelling if required
  • Assisting in planning yard space for incoming vehicles
  • Ensuring that good housekeeping practices are observed in all parking areas

We are seeking a team player with a current Manual drivers licence, able to drive manual vehicles, and possessing vehicle handling and surveying experience (favourable but not mandatory). Additionally, you should be open to change, have good communication skills, an eye for detail, and a passion for working with new and used motor vehicles. A high level of care for people and customers is essential.
