Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Workshop Technician to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for conducting fault-finding component level tasks and repairs, as well as supporting stakeholders with software-based and configuration upgrades to ensure all devices within the network are operational.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical equipment using computer-based test programs and general-purpose test equipment.
  • Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide support and guidance.
  • Utilize, install, verify, and troubleshoot required/loaded software on testing equipment and customer return devices.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams to determine methods of assembly and repair.
  • Operate diagnostic systems to debug and isolate complex faults.
  • Repair faulty units by replacing defective components and retesting.
  • Rework printed circuit boards.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily work accomplished.
  • Suggest ways of improving methods and procedures.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve problems related to electromechanical machinery and equipment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) systems.
  • Electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics knowledge.
  • Ability to perform a variety of technical duties including remedial and preventative maintenance of customer equipment and assets.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Taking responsibility for meeting task deadlines safely and accurately.
  • Adapting to changing environments.
