Freelance Peer Reviewer

As a Freelance Peer Reviewer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of academic journals by assessing the quality and validity of research manuscripts. This position is ideal for researchers, retired researchers, or former researchers who have expertise in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate the novelty of manuscripts to determine whether they contribute new knowledge or insights to the field.
  2. Assess the study design and methodology to ensure they are appropriate, comprehensive, and clearly described.
  3. Review literature to check whether manuscripts incorporate and cite relevant, up-to-date research in the field.
  4. Analyze results and conclusions to evaluate whether they are presented clearly and appropriately, and whether they are supported by the data.
  5. Provide constructive feedback to suggest improvements or highlight any flaws, omissions, or ethical concerns.
  6. Make recommendations on publication based on your evaluation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate (PhD/MD) or equivalent advanced degree in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
  • At least two publications in the last two years in the field.
  • Thorough understanding of research methodologies and ethical principles within the discipline.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
