Strategic Data Governance Specialist

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for leading the development of a robust business case for a major data risk and governance initiative. This is a 6 month day rate contract with potential to extend into the delivery phase.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather, document and validate business requirements for the data governance uplift
  • Analyse current-state processes, data risks and regulatory obligations to inform the business case
  • Support the definition of scope, benefits, cost estimates and business impacts to ensure strategic alignment
  • Develop clear, concise documentation including business case inputs, process maps, options analysis and risk assessments
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews and working groups with stakeholders from data, risk, compliance, finance and IT
  • Assist in preparing business case presentations and supporting materials for executive and steering committee review
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Systems or a related field; relevant certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA highly regarded
  • Proven experience working on business case development for large-scale data, risk or governance initiatives in complex, regulated environments (e.g. energy, utilities, banking)
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, regulatory risk and compliance processes
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear business requirements
  • Experience working in agile and/or hybrid delivery environments, with strong facilitation and documentation skills
  • Solid financial and commercial acumen, including ability to support cost-benefit and ROI analysis
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence in presenting to senior leadership and governance forums
