Role Summary:
This Senior Cybersecurity Incident Responder position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of digital forensics & incident response (DFIR) engagements. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into major security incidents, determining root causes, impact, and mitigation strategies.
About the Role:- The Digital Forensic Specialist is accountable for providing expertise and support to contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents. This includes analysing affected systems utilising forensic techniques to examine system events and adversary activities.
- A key responsibility is to utilise security tooling such as EDR, SIEM, XDR, and Identity technologies to assist in investigation of confirmed or suspected compromises.
Bullet Points of Responsibilities:
- Investigate major security incidents, determine root causes, impact, and mitigation strategies
- Analyse affected systems using forensic techniques to examine system events and adversary activities
- Use security tooling to investigate confirmed or suspected compromises
- Collect digital forensics evidence from affected systems according to industry standards
- Produce detailed DFIR reports outlining investigative steps undertaken, findings, and recommendations
- Support containment, eradication, and recovery efforts based on available information and established processes
- Participate in post-incident reviews and lessons learned sessions
- Deliver proactive incident response services including tabletop exercises, threat hunting, compromise assessments, breach readiness assessments, threat intelligence briefings, and threat modelling
Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in digital forensics and incident response
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to examine system events and adversary activities
- Strong technical knowledge of security tooling and technology
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
