About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team at Datacom. As an Automation Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing technical support and expertise to our customers, testing new solutions, responding to feedback, and actively participating in future technology road mapping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Technical Support: Offer technical assistance and consultancy to customers as required.
  • Resolve Customer Issues: Resolve customer difficulties in a manner consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Design and Develop New Products: Assist in the design and development of new products and tools necessary to make customer accounts comfortable and successful at selling products.
  • Participate in SRE Function: Participate in the development of SRE Function and capability.
  • Maintain and Improve Existing Implementations: Maintain and improve existing implementations.
  • Provide Technical/Product Knowledge: Provide technical/product knowledge for sales people, business, and support teams on customer accounts.
  • Foster a Positive Work Environment: Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe working environment with a 'Can do' attitude.
Requirements
  • DevOps Experience: Experience working with DevOps processes and pipeline automation/CI/CD type scenarios.
  • Containerized Application Management: Solid foundation in containerized application management, including concepts such as Docker Compose, bind volumes, and container networks.
  • Python Development Skills: Basic/Intermediate Python development skills, including the ability to construct basic applications/scripts using Python to perform a variety of tasks, such as automation, data/text manipulation.
  • Database Skills: Basic database skills, including the ability to articulate database concepts (tables, roles, queries).
  • ETL Concepts: Understanding of ETL concepts and ideally some experience working with ETL tools, such as AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory.
  • Ansible and AAP/AWX: Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Ansible and AAP/AWX, including the ability to use modules, collections, execution environments, instances, and develop and test playbooks focused on automating processes.
  • Internetworking Concepts: Basic understanding of internetworking concepts, including the ability to articulate simple concepts like OSI (ideally understand L4 Up) and Layer 7 networking.
  • Unix Administration Skills: Basic Unix administration skills, including the ability to use a shell to configure basic system settings, such as mounting filesystems, changing permissions, and file ownership.
Desirable Skills
  • Kubernetes Skills: Kubernetes skills and experience.
  • Internal Application Support: Experience in internal application support, including exposure to the code.
  • Elastic Tooling: Elastic tooling (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) skills.
  • LLM Exposure: LLM exposure or skills.
