Job Title: Senior Portfolio Leader

This exciting role is for a highly experienced and strategic leader to drive the development and delivery of a portfolio strategy across multiple industries.

  • The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading a team of Program Managers and Coordinators, as well as managing external partnerships and negotiating contracts to deliver value for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing impactful portfolio strategies that deliver strong outcomes
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry groups, government agencies, and research providers
  • Leading a team to achieve high performance and driving innovation in rural R&D systems
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of Australian agriculture and empathy for rural communities
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, business management or economics, or equivalent relevant experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in program management, including identification of R&D priorities, developing R&D plans, and commissioning, contracting, and managing R&D projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in rural issues, as well as an appreciation of the delivery of R&D outcomes to end users
  • Proven track record of outstanding stakeholder liaison skills, management, and engagement
