Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Support First Nations employment initiatives and professional development programs
  • Deliver the Wyndham First Nations Traineeship Program in collaboration with partners and management
  • Facilitate and administer Council's Aboriginal Staff Inclusion Group
  • Research best practices and propose recommendations to management for consideration
  • Contribute to strategy development and delivery

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Delivering programs that advance the rights and outcomes of First Nations peoples
  • Understanding matters impacting First Nations peoples and commitment to cultural capability
  • Managing time, setting priorities, planning and organizing own work
  • Building relationships to influence mutually beneficial outcomes with internal and external stakeholders
  • Relevant degree or diploma course with little or no relevant work experience, or through lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills, or through relevant experience and work skills commensurate with the requirements of this position
  • A current employee working with children check, or willingness to obtain
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive and flexible attitude
