Role Overview
This permanent, full-time position involves leading a team of skilled counsellors to provide high-quality support services to students, their families, and the school community.
The role is focused on delivering mental health and well-being services that align with CatholicCare's values and mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing service delivery, collaborating with stakeholders, and conducting regular supervision and performance reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of experienced counsellors to ensure effective service delivery.
- Oversee the delivery of mental health and well-being services to ensure high standards and alignment with our organisation's values and mission.
- Collaborate with school principals, stakeholders, and community partners to understand needs, promote services, and strengthen partnerships.
- Conduct regular supervision, performance reviews, and professional development sessions with team members to ensure effective service delivery.
- Manage case allocation, monitor workloads, and provide guidance on complex cases as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and best practices in school-based mental health and family services.
- Support continuous improvement by monitoring program outcomes and contributing to program development.
- Collaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives, reporting, and service enhancement.
Requirements
- Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Counselling, or Psychology.
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Clinical Membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), or general registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Up-to-date knowledge and recent experience in the provision of Clinical Supervision.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a mental health, counselling, or social services setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with children, young people, and families, preferably within a school environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage, and delegate tasks effectively.
- A commitment to our organisation's mission and values, and to supporting the mental health and well-being of young people.
- Current driver's license and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
