We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Specialist to join our team in Darwin on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with us in providing data installation services to various customer sites and installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine drawings, specifications, and work areas to determine the correct positioning and connections for equipment to be installed.
  • Locate faults in telecommunications equipment using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and transmission measuring equipment.
  • Attach wires and cables to appliances, ensuring safe and efficient connections.
  • Adjust, replace, and repair faulty items, testing equipment using electronic instruments.
  • Install cabling for telephone, radio, pay TV, and computer transmission systems.
  • Join cables and seal sheaths with lead and thermoplastic, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Erect, test, and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables, as well as radio and mobile phone antennae.
  • Install telecommunications equipment and appliances, including telephones, switchboards, and data transmission equipment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need an open registration cabling license, a strong commitment to quality work, and a passion for safety. We also require candidates with relevant experience in defence or commercial and industrial works, holding a current driver's license. Additionally, a Certificate III in Telecommunications is desirable, as is a Defence clearance.
