Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Health Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for implementing our safety strategy, improving systems, and developing wellbeing initiatives across one private hospital and one clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety strategy to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and operational leaders to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
- Act as a subject matter expert to increase engagement and awareness of health and safety practices across the organisation.
- Develop and implement wellbeing initiatives to promote a positive and healthy work environment.
- Manage multiple stakeholders at all levels, including employees, management, and external partners.
- Provide technical support and guidance to employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in workplace health and safety with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
- Industry experience in health, aged care, or education is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and implement programs, promote, and build systems for delivery.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice.
- Advanced conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use initiative effectively, plan, and prioritise.
