
Cybersecurity Specialist

The role of Product Security Engineer is critical to ensuring the security of our products and systems. As a key member of the team, you will partner with technical experts, solution architects and engineers to identify, prioritize, design and implement cybersecurity solutions that minimize vulnerability and maximize resilience.
- You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure system and product designs align with industry standard cyber controls.
- Contribute to the development of security policies, procedures, audits and assessments to achieve and maintain system authorization.
- Perform threat and risk assessments as part of a cybersecurity maturity process, analyze critical system resources and attack surfaces, identify and prioritize mitigations, and make recommendations for implementation.
- Evaluate cybersecurity risks associated with engineering changes to system authorization baselines and collaborate with engineering teams to plan, design and implement required mitigations.
- Provide inputs for planning, scheduling, and risk management activities across the program.
- Participate in the evaluation of process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Key requirements for success in this role include:
- A tertiary degree qualification in an engineering or related technical field.
- Systems engineering experience with a strong background in security and industry standards.
- Demonstrated experience applying relevant engineering practices, standards and regulations throughout the engineering development lifecycle.
- Experience implementing secure software development and operations processes to ensure secure environments.
- Knowledge of Australian government authorization processes and document packs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
