Key Position for Strategic Energy Regulation
About the Role:The Regulatory Risk and Resource Tenure Branch seeks a visionary leader to manage energy resource licensing. This senior position will oversee legislation, policy, and program development.
Responsibilities include leading high-performing teams, providing authoritative advice, supporting legislative reform, and engaging with stakeholders.
- Leadership experience in regulatory, compliance, or legal services, preferably in government or the energy sector.
- Expertise in upstream energy resource legislation, including key Acts such as the Energy Resources Act 2000, Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023, and Native Title Act 1993.
- A strategic mindset with ability to influence across government and industry, manage change, and provide authoritative, solution-oriented advice.
- Demonstrated ability to work confidently in complex environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including with Traditional Owner groups and industry representatives.
This role offers valuable insight into a vital regulatory function at a pivotal time of growth in the energy sector.
