About the Role

As the Head of Technology Platform at Tyro, you will take the helm of our cloud and modern workplace platforms, driving innovation across AWS, network infrastructure, connectivity, data centres, containerized applications, and end-user computing services.

In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of crafting and executing groundbreaking cloud infrastructure strategies. Your mission will be to amplify developer productivity, enhance our security framework, and ensure the utmost reliability of our technology platform.

You will work hand-in-hand with People, Growth, and other key teams to deploy next-generation technological solutions that revolutionize communication, collaboration, and productivity in our modern workspace.

A key aspect of your role will be leading the ambitious migration and transformation of our remaining application platforms to our AWS cloud, setting the stage for Tyro's future technological advancements and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Set the strategic direction for Cloud & IT teams, including database services, connectivity, corporate IT, and application platforms.
  • Governance: Manage financial and legal aspects of the role, including budget oversight and third-party contracts.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, empower, and motivate your direct and indirect reports to achieve Tyro's strategic technology goals.
  • Cloud Optimization: Drive cloud adoption through simplification, unification, and modernization of systems and processes.
  • Platform Reliability: Ensure the reliability and durability of Tyro's technology platform by maintaining compute, storage, and network infrastructure in line with SLAs, RTOs, and RPOs.
  • Security and Updates: Oversee the security and reliability of Tyro's technology platform through timely updates and patching.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Heads of Technology peers to align Platform and Infrastructure with their teams' needs.
  • Leadership Team: Contribute as a member of the Tyro Technology Leadership team.
  • Knowledge of modern workplace technology best practices, including 2FA, SSO, and identity services automation.
Requirements
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing technology delivery teams.
  • Experience with cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
  • Expertise in balancing architectural, operational, delivery, regulatory, and budgetary requirements.
  • Proficiency in cloud-native technology platforms and Continuous Delivery practices and tooling (e.g., BuildKite, GitHub).
  • Strong track record of cross-functional collaboration.
