Civil Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to provide technical expertise and leadership in optimizing asset lifecycles and enhancing service delivery.

  • This role focuses on improving engineering contract management to boost efficiency and optimize performance for contractors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of technical specifications, standards, and guidelines related to Civil engineering.
  • Support senior engineering staff in providing technical advice, subject matter expertise, and risk management advice for Civil and Pipeline engineering.
  • Drive innovation in digital and sustainable infrastructure approaches aligned with our corporate strategy.
  • Support design review, produce, and update standards, implementing the Engineering Assurance framework, product evaluation, and technical support as required.
  • Support commercial frameworks in place with the design review process.
  • Provide specialized technical support to the Growth and Development team.
About You
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil discipline is required, recognized under the Washington Accord or Engineers Australia, with relevant experience in Civil Engineering.
  • A driver's license (C class) is necessary.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Civil and Pipeline design is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in civil, structural, and hydraulic design of utility pipelines are essential.
  • Knowledge of design and construction practices associated with trenchless technologies is desirable.
  • The ability to think critically, apply a commercial and customer mindset, and creatively problem-solve is crucial.
  • The ability to build trust, strategically influence, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders is vital.
  • The ability to manage contracts and audit work is necessary.
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders is beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate, and work under pressure to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, are essential.
