Senior Accounting Professional

This is a senior role in the accounting department of a major organization.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and finance, with a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports, including monthly BAS returns and annual FBT returns.

Key responsibilities include preparing and consolidating financial data, reconciling accounts, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  2. BAS Returns: Prepare, reconcile, and submit monthly BAS returns (GST, Fuel Excise, PAYG, FBT, etc.) for group companies.
  3. FBT Returns: Assist in the preparation of annual FBT returns.
  4. Tax Schedules: Support the preparation of yearly tax schedules and tax-effect accounting.
  5. General Ledger Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation of the general ledger and intercompany accounts.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, along with professional qualifications (CPA, CA)
  • Experience: At least 5 years post qualification experience
  • Skills: Strong understanding of accounting systems, proficient in computer applications, including advanced Excel skills
