As a Legal Secretary/Paralegal, you will play a vital role in supporting our legal team with administrative tasks. This position involves providing high-quality support to fee earners, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and working as part of a dynamic team. As a Paralegal, your primary responsibilities will include typing legal documents, correspondence, emails, and meeting notes, handling new client onboarding, file opening/closing, and compliance procedures.
- Typing legal documents, correspondence, emails, and meeting notes (including transcribing audio dictation).
- Handling new client onboarding, file opening/closing, and compliance procedures (including AML).
- Managing diaries for fee earners, including arranging client meetings.
- Checking and distributing legal documentation.
- Archiving legal documents and maintaining accurate records on digital systems.
- Supporting fee earners with billing activities, credit control, and debtor chasing.
- Uploading and maintaining digital records and archiving client files.
- Assisting with probate and estate administration tasks, including handling client money transactions in line with firm protocols.
- Filing probate applications and maintaining the Probate Register.
- Acting as a first point of contact for clients and third parties via phone, email, and in writing.
- Drafting simple legal documents (including Wills, LPAs, and estate administration documents) unsupervised.
