Medical Secretary Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to join our team as a Medical Secretary. As a key member of our specialist practice, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support to our doctors and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and Assisting Patients: Provide a warm and welcoming experience for patients, responding to their inquiries and addressing their needs in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Appointment Management: Efficiently manage appointments, schedules, and patient inquiries, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Administrative Tasks: Coordinate tasks such as managing recalls, filing, data entry, and billing, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Liaising with Medical Providers: Establish and maintain effective relationships with medical providers, law firms, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Updating Patient Referrals: Process and update patient referrals, ensuring timely and accurate communication with relevant parties.
  • Processing Medicare Claims: Manage Medicare claims, liaising with health funds and Medicare to ensure efficient and accurate processing.
  • Office Supplies and Maintenance: Order office supplies, maintain patient confidentiality, and perform other administrative tasks as required.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliations of eftpos/hicaps terminal.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a seamless patient experience, providing support and assistance as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Secretary in a specialist practice is preferred.
  • Organizational and Multitasking Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Software: Proficiency in Genie or similar software, experience with healthlink, argus, and other health IT systems.
  • Confidentiality and Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, with advanced typing skills and IT savvy to run a paperless office.
