About This Role

Our organization is seeking a skilled Cost Controller to support our project teams in Perth. As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for providing cost, planning, and risk assessment support to project teams and clients.

The primary role involves setting up and running project controls systems, tools, and interfaces to manage project costs, planning, and risk. You will interface with multiple stakeholders across the project, collating, analyzing, and reporting project cost, planning, and risk data.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate cost and progress reporting
  • Delivering a professional Project Controls service to internal and external customers
  • Acting as a focal point for clients and contractors to ensure costs and progress are reported accurately
  • Managing project work approvals, including accurate cost code allocation and initial budget setup
  • Coordinating project change orders and variations
  • Monitoring cost impact of project milestones
  • Raising purchase requisitions and placing POs on suppliers
  • Reporting project costs data, including budget values, expended values, earned values, productivity figures, SPI, CPI, FTC, FAC, and variance to budget
  • Tracking and inputting project-related data into Oracle
  • Assisting Project Accountants and Billing Specialists in the billing process
  • Attending client progress meetings
  • Preparing proposal schedules and CTR packs

To succeed in this role, you will require advanced working knowledge of Oracle, exceptional Excel skills, and knowledge of core principles in Contracts Management, Commercial Management, and Project Management.

In addition, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving expertise
  • Membership of appropriate professional institutes or associations
  • 2-5 years of experience in Project Controls roles
