Job Overview

A laboratory technician is required to work within our team on a Monday to Friday basis. The successful candidate will be expected to work during the hours of 6:00AM to 2:00PM and undergo training to ensure they are fully equipped for their role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unpacking and accessioning of specimens
  • Simple and complex grossing
  • Specimen filing
Administrative Support

The ideal candidate will have strong typing skills with a speed of over 70 words per minute. They must also be confident and experienced with computers, able to touch type, and familiar with frequently used programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Laboratory Operations
  • General clean-up of the laboratory
  • Microtomy
  • Collecting specimens from medical clinics
Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry medical, clinical, and laboratory supplies weighing up to 20kg
  • Must hold a current open QLD license
Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a self-motivated and organised individual who can perform all allocated tasks in an accurate and timely manner with minimal supervision. They must have a keen sense for improvement, maintain a professional appearance and presentation, and adhere to cleanliness standards within the workplace.

Additionally, excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and effective communication are essential for this role.
