Position: Laboratory Assistant - MicrobiologyLocation: Bowen Hills, Brisbane, QLDEmployment Type: Part-time (Evening Shift: 6:00 pm – 1:30 am, Monday to Friday)About the OpportunitiesSullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking dedicated and motivated Part-Time Evening Laboratory Assistants to join our Microbiology Department at the Bowen Hills laboratory.Evening Shifts: Evening shifts run from 6:00 pm to 1:30 am, Monday to Friday.
A minimum of two shifts per week are required.
Weekend day or night rostering and participate in public holiday roster may be required when appropriately trained.Key ResponsibilitiesAfter training has been provided, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):Preparation and handling of microbiology samplesOperation and maintenance of laboratory equipmentGeneral laboratory housekeeping and administrative tasksAbout YouPrior knowledge/experience in a microbiology laboratory or in microbiology laboratory techniques will be advantageous.The successful applicant will also ideally have:Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skillsThe ability to prioritise tasks, work methodically and efficiently, and meet deadlinesThe ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailA proactive and flexible approach to changing work demandsExcellent customer service skills, with a focus on supporting scientific and clinical staffCommitment to occupational health and safety policiesAbout Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (SNP)Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is a leading provider of diagnostic pathology services in Australia, renowned for our commitment to excellence in patient care and quality testing.
